Who’s Who at The Winn Group: Shandra Davis – Digital Designer & Developer

Shandra Davis is both a left and right brain thinker. Her right brain enjoys graphic design, listening to Family Force 5, and using Twizzlers to drink her soda. On the other hand, her left brain enjoys sauntering through endless lines of code, sipping warm chamomile tea, and categorizing her m&m’s before consumption for maximum enjoyment.

While completing her Bachelors degree in Digital Art and Design at Towson University, Shandra managed to graduate Magna Cum Laude while also leading weekly meetings and Bible studies for Campus Crusade for Christ, as well as designing weekly promotional materials for the group to distribute on campus.

An extreme multi-tasker, Shandra chose to answer our questions while finishing up a design project, painting her toenails, and eating aforesaid categorized m&m’s.

1. What is your favorite color & why?

That would definitely have to be purple, but really any shade of purple.  Lilac, violet, lavender, royal, fuchsia; you name it; I love it and am absolutely drawn to it!  When I was turning 16 my parents asked me what I wanted for my birthday.  I told them I wanted to take the awful ribbons and bows wallpaper off of my walls and paint it grape purple with lilac sponged on top.  It was a pretty awesome room with my zebra print accents and purple Christmas lights strung around my ceiling. It still looks like that to this day, minus the zebra print and Christmas lights.

2. What is your favorite quote/saying & why?

I recently bought an art print to hang in my office that says, “All I want is peace, love, understanding and a chocolate bar bigger than my head!”  It reminds me of the time my husband bought me a 10 lb bar of dark chocolate for our first Valentines Day together.  It was Wilber chocolate from PA, the kind that melts in your mouth, and it really was bigger than my head!

3. What do you like to do on your day off?

Spend time with my husband whether that be riding Zumie (our scooter), enjoying homemade pizza, or snuggling up and watching Lost reruns.

4. What is your favorite thing about working for The Winn Group?

I love the fact that every day I get to use my God-given abilities to help organizations and ministries all around the world.  God didn’t create me to be a writer or a speaker, but to be a designer and web developer.  I get to help others and further the Gospel just by doing what He created me to do.  I find great joy and motivation in that.  I love my job!

5. If your clients were going to send you a present, what would you wish for?

A movie gift basket with all kinds of goodies like a book of movie tickets, Orange Crush soda, and Twizzlers.
